NYS Cannabis Control Board approves 25 new adult-use licenses, bringing statewide total to 2,322

NEW YORK — This week, 25 new adult-use cannabis licenses were approved by the New York State Cannabis Control Board.

After the 25 licenses were approved, the total number of statewide adult-use cannabis licenses increased to 2,322.

“As New York’s cannabis market continues to mature, the Board remains focused on building a regulatory framework that is transparent, predictable, and responsive to the needs of both industry and communities,” said Jessica García, Chair of the Cannabis Control Board. “Today’s actions reflect our commitment to responsible growth, thoughtful oversight, and a marketplace positioned for long-term success.”

Other than the license approvals, the control board approved 78 adult-use license renewals, 25 license amendments, two application denials, and one processor-cultivator amendment, among other updates.

Of the 2,322 licenses in the state, there are:

• 275 cultivators 

• 248 distributors 

• 328 microbusinesses 

• 574 processors 

• 537 retail dispensaries 

• 360 Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensaries (CAURD)
