GTA 6 and Weed: Every Cannabis Clue in Rockstar’s Next Game
GTA 6 LANDS NOVEMBER 19. HERE'S EVERY CONFIRMED CANNABIS CLUE IN ROCKSTAR'S FLORIDA, PLUS THE WEED RUMORS THAT KEEP GETTING REPEATED AS FACT.
GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) has been “coming soon” for so long that it became its own joke. We got a 13-year gap since the last one, two delays, and a 26-minute gameplay look that premiered on Netflix before it hit Rockstar’s own YouTube. And now, finally, we’ve got a date.
On November 19, 2026, Rockstar is dropping us into Leonida, a satirical Florida. But what can we expect, weed-wise?
GTA 6 looks like it will fold cannabis into Leonida’s smuggling and nightlife culture, but Rockstar has not confirmed a weed business or a dispensary system. The clearest official clue is a single line from a character bio about hauling “grass.”
Below: what’s confirmed, which rumors to ignore, what GTA V did with weed, and the release basics.
Is GTA 6 Out? Release Date, Platforms, and Pre-Orders.
Is GTA 6 out? Not yet. Rockstar confirmed the game launches Thursday, November 19, 2026, after a delay from the earlier May 2026 target.
Will GTA 6 be on PC? No. It’s launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S only, with no confirmation of a PC version. Though previous GTA games have hit consoles first and expanded to PC later. Treat any PC date you see as speculation until Rockstar says otherwise.
Can you pre-order GTA 6? Yes. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, including the Ultimate Edition. Digital preloading is set to begin November 12.
Where does GTA 6 take place? In Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida. Leonida is inspired by Florida and includes distinct regions like the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga, and an area called Ambrosia.
Why the Florida Setting Is a Cannabis Goldmine
Leonida hands Rockstar more cannabis material than any previous GTA map.
Think about what Florida actually offers a satirist:
Medical marijuana politics.
Rural agriculture and greenhouses.
Miami nightlife and influencer culture.
Tourist-facing dispensaries and CBD shops in every strip mall.
Boat routes through the Keys that have been moving product for decades.
The gap between polished legal storefronts and the older black-market networks they replaced.
That’s a lot of runway. But setting alone doesn’t tell us much about weed’s role in GTA 6.
The Confirmed Cannabis Clues in GTA 6
Everything in this section comes from Rockstar’s own character material.
The strongest hint comes from Brian Heder, described as a veteran smuggler from the golden age of the trade. His official bio claims he once hauled enough “grass” through his plane to make the whole state of Leonida levitate.
Beyond that, here’s what the evidence shows:
Brian’s “grass” line. Official. Confirms cannabis smuggling is part of the setting’s backstory.
Jason Duval’s history with drug runners. Official. It seems trafficking is central to his character.
Brian’s active smuggling operation. Official. There’s an established criminal logistics network.
The dispensary management rumor. Unverified. Suggests possible cannabis gameplay, with no reliable confirmation.
